5 - 'Turn Left, Turn Right'

"Both are convinced that a sudden surge of emotion bound them together."

I never believe in love at first sight. A sudden surge of emotion may bound two people together and it's not yet love. Love is something you develop through ages and it may be tested through time. Love is more than just an emotion. It is more than just an affection.

But I do believe in fate. I believe in destiny. I believe you not only meet people by chance - you meet people for a reason. People will love you or hurt you, will make you laugh or will make you cry, will keep you or just let go of you, and it will all happened for a reason.

Sometimes we have to be hurt for us to be fixed. We have to be left behind for us to be found. That sometimes we have to be separated for 13 years of time for us to appreciate the beauty of uncertainties in life.

I love the film inspired by the book authored by Jimmy Liao. Although I am not a fan of love at first sight, I appreciate how he was able to showcase the meaning of destiny.

If two people are destined for each other, regardless of whatsoever, they'll be together. Being separated for more than a decade, having no means of communication, losing each other’s phone numbers, not knowing each other’s name – are just the beginning of the story. If you are meant to be, you will be. God moves in miraculous ways.

Moreover, I’m quite amused how the film was presented. Amazing how the climax and resolution as the plot of the story was shown and was so unpredictable. Ending matches one part of the poem recited in the film.. “Beautiful is such a certainty, but uncertainty is more beautiful.”
