Watching ‘Ang Tatay Mong Kalbo’
is as such. It leaves us puzzled when we started to question what the truth is.
It’s confusing when Mr. and Mrs. Santos started talking about the death of Jean
Reyes two years ago, and they said it was three years ago, then 4, then they
mentioned he isn’t dead at all and will be engaged to a woman with same name as
his. The whole play was like this. I even remember Mr. Santos describing Jean
Reyes (not sure) as someone who is not that good-looking, tall and stout then
reality shifted to Jean Reyes being described as a good-looking woman, short
and skinny.
The play is confusing yet
entertaining especially when Maria and Hepe started to enter the stage. Maria, the
maid of Mr. and Mrs. Santos, turned out to be the fire chief’s lover – and she is
the first fire Hepe watered on. Lol.
There were no dull moments and
dead air during the play – just a headache for the audience being healed by the
entertainment it brings.
Kudos for the light and sound
directors as well as the narrator for some scenarios for making the play spectacular.
Kudos for Mr. and Mrs. Santos and Mr. and Mrs. Reyes for such a well-portrayed
character and thank you for making us confused while being amused by your acts.
Kudos for Hepe and Maria for making us entertained all throughout the play. Kudos
to all staffs who helped in making the play turned into reality.
Life is indeed confusing. Keep calm
and relax.
